In short: ShotDraw is built so that your videos and your data never leave your iPhone.
- We don’t have servers that receive your data.
- We don’t have accounts.
- We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking.
ShotDraw is a golf shot-tracing and swing-analysis app made by Something Better LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app processes, where that data stays, and the choices you have.
What ShotDraw processes, and where
| Data | What it’s used for | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Videos you record or import | Finding your shots, tracing the ball’s flight, measuring tempo and posture | Copied into ShotDraw’s private storage on your iPhone. Never uploaded. |
| Shot data (traces, estimates, target lines, favourites, your edits) | Showing and editing your shots | Stored on your iPhone only. |
| Settings and calibration (units, handedness, trace style, phone and golfer height) | Your preferences and better estimates | Stored on your iPhone only. |
| Location (only if you allow it) | Distances on the course from where you stand, placing shots on the map, and naming a session after the course or range, for example “Fremont Park GC” | See Location, below. |
| Motion sensors | Checking the phone is level and steady while recording, and keeping traces accurate | Used on your iPhone during recording; never leaves it. |
| Microphone (only if you allow it) | Adding the sound of the strike to your recordings | Part of the video file on your iPhone. |
All analysis (finding the golfer and the ball, tracing, the flight model, posture) runs on your iPhone with Apple’s frameworks and ShotDraw’s own on-device models.
Location
With location allowed, ShotDraw uses your iPhone’s position to measure distances on the course and stores the position and camera heading of each recording with that session, on your iPhone, so its shots can be placed on the map. It also asks Apple Maps for the name of the nearest golf course, or the town, to title the session, and the map itself is drawn by Apple Maps. Those requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy; nothing is sent to us. You can deny location access: sessions are then named by date and the course map shows no positions.
Imported videos keep the metadata they had in your Photos library (which may include where they were filmed) inside ShotDraw’s private storage on your iPhone.
Sharing
ShotDraw shares nothing on its own. When you export a shot, the video is rendered on your iPhone and handed to the iOS share sheet; where it goes from there (Messages, Photos, another app) is your choice and governed by that app’s policy.
Backups
ShotDraw’s data is part of your iPhone’s device backups (iCloud Backup or your computer), under your Apple Account’s settings. ShotDraw does not sync to any other service.
What we collect
Nothing. ShotDraw does not collect, store or sell personal data, contains no third-party SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites. Our App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
If you email us for support, we receive what you choose to send (your email address and message) and use it only to reply.
This website
shotdraw.com uses no cookies, analytics or advertising. Like any website, its hosting provider processes standard request data, such as your IP address, to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
Deleting your data
Delete a shot or a session in the app (press and hold, then Delete), or delete the app to remove everything ShotDraw stored. Videos still in your Photos library are not affected.
Children
ShotDraw is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. A change that would collect data would be announced in the app first.
